< Back Dr. Ankush Bansal Provider Dr. Ankush Bansal is a double board-certified Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Physician (through the American Board of Anesthesiology) who has devoted his career to understanding complex and difficult-to-treat painful conditions. He has helped numerous patients with incapacitating pain improve their quality of life and regain function. He is actively involved in ongoing clinical research and multiple national medical societies, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and North American Neuromodulation Society. He has published articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, including the Pain Medicine Journal. He is continually striving to find new and effective ways to treat chronic pain. Dr. Bansal completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan, where he studied the impact of exercise, nutrition, and movement on the human body. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Michigan Medical School. After enduring a chronic, painful neck injury, he moved to Los Angeles to specialize in Anesthesiology and Chronic Interventional Pain Management through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he was mentored by some of the most renowned figures in the field of Pain Medicine. In the summer of 2018, he joined Coastal Pain Medical Group. He is dedicated to their mission of bringing the highest quality and compassionate pain services to their patients. He currently has medical and surgical privileges at Scripps Memorial Encinitas Hospital and Tri-City Medical Center. He has a particular interest in treating neck, back, trunk, pelvis, shoulder, hip, and knee pain through various medical, interventional, and regenerative techniques. In his free time, he loves spending time with family, traveling, running, and enjoying San Diego.

< Back Gina Giron Physician Assistant I began my PA journey over 10 years ago at King’s College in Pennsylvania (where I was born and raised), and have since moved to Southern California in 2010 and started my career in Los Angeles and Carlsbad, CA. I graduated from an accelerated Master’s program with a Master's of Physician Assistant degree. Before Coastal Pain & Spinal Diagnostics, I lived and worked in Los Angeles, where I was a PA in Orthopedics, catering to some of Hollywood’s big names in Beverly Hills. I then switched gears from adult orthopedics to pediatric orthopedics at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles for nearly 5 years before moving to Oceanside, CA. I’ve been happy to treat patients here at Coastal Pain since 2017. When I’m not working with patients at Coastal Pain & Spinal Diagnostics, you can find me spending time with my husband, Charlie, and son, Charlie, who definitely keeps us on our toes. Aside from spending quality time with my family, I love to travel and spend time at our beautiful beaches. Fun facts: I was born in Scranton, PA (yes, like The Office)! < Back Theresa Cotter Physician Assistant Theresa graduated from Temple University’s Physician Assistant program in 2023 with a Master’s in Medical Sciences. She is originally from Maryland and moved to Philadelphia for PA school. She then moved from Philadelphia to San Diego to start her journey as a Physician Assistant and was enthusiastic about joining the Coastal Pain & Spinal Diagnostics family. She is excited to bring her dedication to patient care! In her free time, you can find her hiking, traveling, or enjoying the beaches! She particularly enjoys exploring new hiking trails that offer stunning views of the coastline. Fun Fact: She swam in college and still enjoys swimming regularly!
